West Shore Bank employees spread acts of kindness.

More than 60 West Shore Bank employees volunteered over 142 hours in one week to make a difference in communities along west Michigan’s lakeshore.  While volunteer opportunities and events have been postponed or canceled, West Shore Bank created its own way to give back with an Acts of Kindness Week. 

“The last few months have been tough as we have faced a global pandemic, racial tension and economic challenges, so we thought an Acts of Kindness week would be beneficial, fun and keeping with our efforts to make a difference in our communities,” said Raymond A. Biggs, president and CEO of West Shore Bank. “We chose to come together and support local organizations while spending time as a team, and of course, practicing social distancing.”

The bank dedicated August 3-8 as a week-long act of service among its branch locations. Each West Shore Bank office chose a cause to volunteer for. Bank employees and their families came together to participate among the several chosen community projects. 

Some of the community projects included trail and park clean-ups, weeding the Ludington Petunia Parade, planting perennials on River Street and weeding petunias in Manistee, cleaning and mulching treescape areas in downtown Hart, and holding a car wash in Scottville benefitting Mason County’s Meals on Wheels, raising over $1,000.
