Man sentenced for fleeing police, resisting arrest.

LUDINGTON — A 24-year-old Ludington man was sentenced in 51st Circuit Court Tuesday, April 21, for convictions of fourth-degree fleeing and eluding police and assaulting/resisting/obstructing police.

Christopher Joseph Sekenske, Jr., of 906 N. Washington Ave., was sentenced to serve 75 days up front of a one-year discretionary jail term with credit for 75 days served.

Tuesday’s court proceedings were handled via Zoom videoconferencing due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and future proceedings are expected to be done that way for the time being.

Sekenske pleaded guilty to the charges March 10. He was on felony probation at the time of the offense, said Mason County Prosecutor Paul Spaniola, and Sekenske has yet to be sentenced for violating his probation. “Mr. Sekenske has been an extremely problematic probationer,” Spaniola said. “I’ve reached my frustration tolerance with him.”

Because he was on probation at the time of the offense, Sekenske is being held in jail without bail.

Sekenske was sentenced by Judge Susan K. Sniegowski Tuesday to two more years probation.

He was initially facing a second count of assaulting/resisting/obstructing police and third-degree fleeing and eluding police, which were dismissed in a plea agreement. A second-offense habitual offender status was also dismissed.

The incident occurred Dec. 9 on First Street in the City of Ludington.
