United Way accepting proposals.
LUDINGTON — United Way of Mason County is accepting requests for proposals (RFP) for the 2020-2021 funding cycle (April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021) from local non-profit organizations that are focusing on helping children to achieve their potential and working with individuals and families to be financially stable and improving people’s health.
The RFP document can be accessed by going to www.masoncountyuw.org or by calling the United Way of Mason County office at 231-843-8593.
“Local volunteers will review each of the request for proposals submitted and recommend to the United Way of Mason County Board of Directors how the dollars should be awarded,” said Lynne Russell, executive director of United Way of Mason County.
When volunteers review the proposals, they are looking for the quality of services being delivered, achievement of identified outcomes, formation of partnerships with similar type organizations and fiscal responsibility. Last year, 15 local programs were awarded funding.
The dollars raised from United Way of Mason County’s fundraising campaign, are the dollars used for awarding funds.
“If you haven’t had a chance to make a donation through United Way of Mason County’s fundraising campaign, it’s not too late. When you give through United Way of Mason County, 98 cents of every dollar stays right here in our community,” Russell said.
