Ludington man pleads guilty to heroin delivery.

LUDINGTON — A 39-year-old Ludington man pleaded guilty to delivery of heroin less than 50 grams, possession of fentanyl less than 25 grams and second-offense habitual offender in 51st Circuit Court Tuesday, Dec. 17.

Thomas James Robinson, Jr., of 307 S. Rowe St., originally faced charges in two separate criminal files of maintaining a drug house, a second count of delivery less than 50 grams of heroin, delivery less than 50 grams of fentanyl and fourth-offense habitual offender, which were dismissed in a plea agreement.

Robinson’s plea agreement calls for serving eight months up front of a one-year discretionary jail term, along with probation.

Since Robinson has been incarcerated since May 28, he will have served his time up front by today, said his attorney Tracie McCarn-Dinehart who is requesting that Robinson be released from jail on a personal recognizance bond.

Robinson admitted to Judge Susan K. Sniegowski that he delivered heroin on Olmstead Street in the City of Ludington, Jan. 8 2019. He also admitted that he was in possession of fentanyl in Pere Marquette Township, May 28, 2019.

Delivery of heroin less than 50 grams is punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

According to the Offender Tracking Information System, Robinson has the following convictions and sentences with the Michigan Department of Corrections:

– carrying a concealed weapon: two years and 10 months to 10 years, June 28, 2011, Muskegon County;
– breaking and entering a coin-operated device: one and a half to three years, Aug. 19, 2003, Lake County;
– weapons – felony firearms: two years, Nov. 4, 2002, Muskegon County.

Sentencing is set for Feb. 11 at 1:30 p.m.
