LUDINGTON — Potential jurors were crowded into the hallway of the second floor of the Mason County Courthouse this morning as the trial against Mark McCallum began. A 51st Circuit Court representative said deliberations may start as early as this afternoon. However, by 11 a.m. there weren’t many jurors seated.
McCallum is accused of kidnapping his own children last year. He allegedly did not return them to their mother when he was scheduled to and instead took them to Key West. The Hamlin Township resident is representing himself, though he does have a court appointed attorney as well.
Mason County Press will provide updates and coverage of the trial.
