LUDINGTON – A 28-year-old Fountain woman pleaded guilty in 51st Circuit Court Tuesday, Oct. 22, to possession with intent to deliver less than 50 grams of cocaine.

Charges of possession with intent to deliver meth and prisoner in possession of contraband – cocaine against Keila Bay Lankton, of 6191 Sugar Grove Rd., were dismissed in a plea agreement, which calls for serving six months up front of a one-year discretionary jail term.

Lankton’s sentence will also include a six-month driver’s license suspension, said Mason County Prosecutor Paul Spaniola. Sentencing guidelines in the case are 0-17 months.

Possession with intent to deliver less than 50 grams of cocaine carries a maximum prison term of 20 years.

Lankton also has a pending felony charge of prisoner in possession contraband – methamphetamine, which is punishable by up to five years in prison. Judge Susan K. Sniegowski said she will take that count on advisement and address it during sentencing. Lankton is contesting the charge.

Lankton testified that on Aug. 28 in Summit Township she was in possession of 3 grams of cocaine and admitted that she intended to transfer cocaine to another person. She also had a scale in her possession, but stated that it did not belong to her.

Lankton stated that after she was transported to the jail, she turned the drugs in her possession over to corrections officers.

Sentencing is set for Dec. 3 at 1:45 p.m.
