79th District Court sentencings/dismissals, posted Aug. 15, 2019.
LUDINGTON — The following were recently sentenced in Mason County’s 79th District Court:
-Brooks Aaron Johnson, 37, of 601 N. Rath Ave., Ludington, pleaded guilty Aug. 6 to domestic violence, two counts of improper license plates, and failure to maintain security (no vehicle insurance). He was sentenced to 24 days in jail with credit for 24 days served; one year discretionary jail for one year; no contact with the victim; no drugs/alcohol/marijuana; subject to random PBTs; and $1,195 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS). A charge of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder was dismissed.
-Kayla Marie Stever, 18, of 6719 E. Hawley Rd., Logan Township, pleaded guilty Aug. 13 to operating a vehicle while impaired by liquor (OUIL) and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must complete alcohol highway safety education; must attend victim’s impact panel; 120 days of Soberlink monitoring; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; 12 months of probation; and $870 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.
-Shawnna Beth Everette, 40, of 2952 Page Rd., Manistee, pleaded no contest Aug. 7 to malicious destruction to a building and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must have a substance abuse evaluation; no drugs/alcohol/marijuana; subject to random PBTs; and $845 in fines/costs. A charge of third degree home invasion was dismissed.
-Melodey Sue Ray, 50, of 2749 Tuttle Rd., Sherman Township, pleaded guilty Aug. 6 to third degree retail fraud and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; 37 hours of community service; and $595 in fines/costs.
-Brandon Charles Hathaway, 36, of 407 N. Thomas St., Scottville, pleaded guilty Aug. 6 to disorderly person jostling and was sentenced to six days in jail with credit for six days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; must have a substance abuse and domestic violence evaluation; no drugs/alcohol/marijuana; subject to random PBTs; and $485 in fines/costs.
-Norma Jean Muyskens, 54, of 1707 S. Larson Rd., Branch Township, pleaded guilty Aug. 6 to third degree retail fraud and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; and $930 in fines/costs.

-Desiree Valerie Dolecki, 29, of 13018 Coates Hwy., Brethren, had a charge of operating without security (no vehicle insurance) dismissed without prejudice on Aug. 6 after pleading guilty to a civil infraction.
-Jason Leroy Johnson, 38, of 11349 Fitzgerald Ave., Grant, had a charge of operating without security (no vehicle insurance) dismissed without prejudice on Aug. 6 after pleading guilty to a civil infraction.
