79th District Court sentencings and dismissals, posted July 19, 2019.

LUDINGTON — The following were recently sentenced in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

-Anthony Werner Priese, 38, of 404 ½ N. James St., Ludington, pleaded guilty July 9 to second offense domestic violence and was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for 19 days served; one year discretionary jail for two years; no contact with the victim; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; and $1,195 in fines/costs.

-Michelle Lee DeMarco, 49, of 505 E. Loomis St., Ludington, pleaded guilty July 16 to operating a vehicle while impaired by liquor (OUIL) and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; must complete substance abuse counseling; and $895 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS).

-Francisco Javier Luevano, 44, of 133 ½ S. Main St., Apt. 1, Scottville, pleaded guilty July 16 to OUIL and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; must attend the SBIRT program; and $995 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-Hannah Rose Brower, 25, of 106 N. Gay St., Scottville, pleaded no contest July 16 to failure to stop after an accident and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; one year discretionary jail for one year; and $595 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-Betty Sue Slaone, 59, of 607 W. Pere Marquette St., Ludington, pleaded guilty July 16 to third degree retail fraud and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; $67.64 in restitution; and $595 in fines/costs.

-Deandre Cavelle Winston, 33, of 6054 Barnhart Rd., Hamlin Township, pleaded guilty July 16 to assault and battery and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must not have contact with the victim; and $745 in fines/costs.

-Joseph Gerard Maurer, 60, of 128 Scarborough Ln., Whitemore Lake, pleaded no contest July 17 to aggravated assault and was sentenced to three days in jail with credit for three days served; one year discretionary jail for one year; no contact with the victim; and $1,115 in fines/costs. Additional charges of assault with intent to do great bodily harm and assault and battery were dismissed.

-Cheryl Ann Bailey, 63, of 104 E. Whittier St., Ludington, pleaded guilty July 16 to third degree retail fraud and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; and $125 in fines/costs.

-Conner Ryan Kane Huddleston, 23, of 701 E. Sixth St., Ludington, pleaded guilty July 9 to OUIL and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; must complete SBIRT program; and $1,095 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-Donald Paul Simmons, 47, of 713 E. Danaher St., Apt. 2, Ludington, pleaded guilty July 9 to third degree retail fraud and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must have a substance abuse evaluation; no drugs/alcohol/marijuana; and $595 in fines/costs.

-Taylor Marie Briske, 23, of 947 14th St., Apt. B2, Manistee, pleaded guilty July 9 to OUIL and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random, PBTs; must complete alcohol highway safety education; and $895 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS. A charge of transporting an open intoxicant in a vehicle was dismissed.

 

Dismissals

-Chad Micheal Looman, 46, of 910 W. Bradshaw Rd., Riverton Township, had a charge of operating while license suspended dismissed without prejudice on July 10 per a plea agreement.

-Marquell Wilkinson, 45, of 1706 Ruddiman St., Muskegon, had a charge of operating while license suspended dismissed without prejudice on July 9 per a plea agreement.

-Raymond Lloyd Stekenas, 28, of 181 S. Stephens Ave., Branch Township, had a charge of operating without security (no vehicle insurance) dismissed without prejudice on July 9 after pleading guilty to a lesser charge.

-River Lawrence Merrill, 23, of 938 Hawley Rd., Riverton Township, had a charge of operating without security (no vehicle insurance) dismissed without prejudice on July 9 after pleading guilty to a lesser charge.

-Adam Wayne Nelson, 44, of 503 E. First St., Ludington, had a charge of operating without security (no vehicle insurance) dismissed without prejudice on July 15 after pleading guilty to a lesser charge.

-Alvin Jeremy Courtland, 34, of 208 W. Third St., Apt. 1, Scottville, had a charge of operating without security (no vehicle insurance) dismissed without prejudice on July 15 after pleading guilty to a lesser charge.

-Ashley Sue Moritz, 31, of 240 S. Gibson Rd., Branch Township, had a charge of operating without security (no vehicle insurance) dismissed without prejudice on July 15 after pleading guilty to a lesser charge.
