LUDINGTON — Scottville Mayor Joe Baxter will receive another pretrial conference in the drunk driving case against him. A conference was held Monday between the prosecutor’s office and Baxter and his attorney.
“We agreed to have another pretrial,” Mason County Prosecutor Paul Spaniola said. “This was done so we could evaluate some information provided by the defense attorney about the case.”
According to a Michigan State Police report Baxter had a blood alcohol content of .08 the morning of Oct. 18, two hours after he drove his truck into a ravine off East Second Street.
He has been charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
The new pre-trial conference is scheduled for March 4.
