Winter storm warning continues until Thursday.

The area is still under a winter storm warning, issued by the National Weather Service until 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31. Lake effect snow showers are expected with accumulations of 1 to 5 inches through tonight. Blowing and drifting snow is also likely. Additional snow accumulations are possible Wednesday into Thursday with some blowing and drifting. Dangerously cold wind chills will drop to 25 to 45 degrees below zero tonight and last through Thursday morning with colder wind chills expected in southern Michigan, away from Lake Michigan.

Travel will be very difficult as areas of blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility. Hazardous conditions will impact driving. The wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.
