Man injured after trying to avoid hitting deer with vehicle.

GRANT TOWNSHIP – A 23-year-old Manistee man was treated by LIFE EMS for a minor injury after trying to avoid hitting a deer with his vehicle Wednesday, Jan. 16, shortly after 4 a.m. at Quarterline and Treml roads, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.
“The driver reported he swerved to miss a deer and, in doing so, ran off the road and struck a tree,” Cole said.
Other police activity Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019 includes:
– Noon, (MCSO) a 30-year-old Mason County man was arrested for a sex offender registry violation at the sheriff’s office, City of Ludington. The arrest stems from a complaint filed last December in Branch Township.
– 12:23 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), criminal sexual conduct, City of Ludington.
– 1:39 p.m., (Michigan State Police), car/dog crash, Bradshaw and Riggle roads, Riverton Township.
– 3:09 p.m., (MCSO), a 48-year-old Ludington man was arrested for probation violation, 200 block of North Lavina Street, City of Ludington. He was found to have been consuming intoxicants while on district court probation for an operating while intoxicated conviction.
– 4:40 p.m., (MCSO), a 30-year-old Mason County man was arrested on a sex offender registration violation.
– 5:35 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Darr Road north of Decker Road, Sherman Township.
– 6:10 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 10 east of Bean Road, Custer Township.
– 10:11 p.m., (LPD), domestic violence, 600 block of Lakeshore Drive, City of Ludington.
