PoWeR Book Bag workshop is Sept. 20.

LUDINGTON — Bethany Lutheran Church is sponsoring a PoWeR Book Bag workshop on Thursday, Sept. 20 from noon to 4 p.m. at 301 N. James St., the church’s new location shared with Grace Episcopal Church.

Fabrics, other supplies and a couple of sewing machine will be available but participants are encouraged to bring their own machines if possible. Entrance to the church is barrier free.

The PoWeR Book Bag program aims to enhance children’s reading and learning opportunities through supplying free books. In addition to choosing books, each child is allowed to choose a hand crafted book bag. Multiple distribution sites are set up in both Mason and Oceana counties.
