Allied Health students place at national competition

Allied Health students place at national competition

Recently, six West Shore Educational Service District Career and Technical Education Allied Health students, along with their instructor, Sally Wright traveled to Dallas to compete at the 41st annual Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) International Leadership Conference.

The students worked in teams of two and each competed in the CPR and First Aid category. Teammates Andrea Shoop of Ludington High School and Alex Larson of Mason County Central High School placed in the top 10 in the world.  

Also, teammates Jordanna Danielson (MCC) and Kennady Merrick (MCC) and teammates Savannah Brice (MCC) and Krystal Stayer (MCC) placed top 40 in the world. There were over 7,500 students that participated in at least one of the 57 health related competitive events. Students were judged on professionalism, technical skills, and leadership abilities.
