1 injured after offramp crash.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — One person was injured following a two vehicle crash at Pere Marquette Township and the northbound off-ramp of US 31 Monday morning. The crash occurred about 9 a.m. when a Chevrolet Colorado pick-up truck, that was exiting the expressway, apparently failed to yield the right-of-way for Chrysler LeBaron that was southbound on Pere Marquette Highway. The male drive of the Colorado did not appear to be injured. The male driver of the LeBaron was transported by ambulance to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital.

Responding to the crash were Michigan State Police, Mason County Sheriff’s Office, and Pere Marquette Township Fire Department, and Life EMS. Ludington Fire Department’s rescue unit was initially dispatched but disregarded.

Traffic on Pere Marquette Highway was being re-routed as crews cleaned up the crash scene.
