LHS, MCC football players honoring Henry MacDougall.
SCOTTVILLE — Tonight is the Mason County Central homecoming football game at Spartan Community Field. Many of the football players grew up playing sports with Ludington High School junior Henry MacDougall, 16, who died last week as the result of a vehicle crash north of Scottville(story here). Both of Henry’s parents, Gordon MacDougall and Jennifer (Ryan) Hansberger, are alumni of MCC, and Henry spent much of his youth in Scottville area little league programs.
The MCC varsity football team members have memorialized Henry by placing an orange and black (Ludington school colors) decal with his initials on the back of their helmets. The team members will debut the decals during their homecoming game tonight against Shelby. Ludington Area Schools Athletic Director Randy Fountain said the LHS varsity football team has done the same and both teams, when they compete against each other next Friday, Oct. 20, will do something together to honor Henry. The MCC decals were created and donated by Safety Decals.
The MCC homecoming parade begins at 6 p.m. just south of downtown and will go north up Main Street to Beryl Street and then west to Spartan Community Field.
