Garden Walk is Sunday, July 9.
LUDINGTON — The 21st Annual Mason County Garden Club Garden Walk will be held on Sunday, July 9 from 1 to 5 p.m. The $10 tickets may be purchased in advance at Cartier Mansion in Ludington, Cole’s Antiques Villa in Scottville, Orchard Market in Pere Marquette Township and Free Soil Township, The Giving Tree Garden Center in Ludington or on July 7, at the Farmers Market in Ludington. Tickets may also be purchased on the day of the walk at any of the featured gardens.
The five gardens this year offer an opportunity for ticket holders to see how to use compost to enhance the area’s naturally sandy soil, enjoy the fragrance of native flowers which also benefit insects and also methods of incorporating vegetables in flowers beds. Most owners will be available to answer questions as will Garden Club docents. Trees, shrubs, perennials, herbs and annuals, sun-lovers and shade plants will be featured at most of the gardens. Eclectic garden art as well as unique items are blended to show off the plant material. Hardscape helps to transition from one area to another. Two of the gardens are revisits having been on the Garden Walk in the past, two are in Ludington and three are in other parts of the county.
The walk occurs rain or shine.
