October 26, 2012

LUDINGTON — Ludington Police Officers arrested a man in his ’50s this afternoon after he had upset a Republican Party office volunteer at the GOP office at the Stearns Hotel on East Ludington Avenue.

“I think he went into the office to speak his mind,” LPD Sgt. Dave Maltbie said, “and the worker there felt threatened.”
Maltbie said the man attempted to drive away when police arrived, almost backing into a police cruiser. At that time he was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Mason County District Court Magistrate Patti Baker said that she has not arraigned the suspect and probably won’t until Saturday or Monday.
