HAMLIN TOWNSHIP — A 72-year-old Traverse City area man was seriously injured Saturday morning after the man apparently stabbed himself with a knife at the Ludington State Park, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole. Emergency personnel were dispatched to the entrance of the state park just after 9 a.m. for a report of a man who stabbed himself in the stomach, sitting in an SUV. The first emergency responder was a sheriff’s deputy who immediately administered first aid, Sheriff Cole said. The man was then transported by ambulance to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital. Responding to the scene were Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Hamlin Township Fire Department, and Life EMS ambulance.
