LUDINGTON — West Shore Bank recently donated $1,000 towards the Ludington Youth Sailing School, a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching children how to sail. This is the second of three year’s worth of $1,000 donations committed by West Shore Bank.
“We are grateful for businesses like West Shore Bank that make this school possible,” said Gary Ferguson of LYSS. “We could not hold this school without these donations. Tuition doesn’t even cover a third of our costs.”
The school is located near the Ludington Yacht Club and Copeyon Park. The classes are held three hours a day for four days with the first sessions beginning Monday, June 27. There are two sessions per day with the option of students to sign up for both morning and afternoon sessions. The cost is $100 but scholarships are available, Ferguson said.
