LUDINGTON — The Thoreau Piano Trio will perform Friday, July 31 at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts. The members of the trio, which includes violinist Susan Jensen, cellist Darry Dolezal and pianist Paul Jacobs, bring together a world of musical experiences, including performances in major American cities, in Europe, Asia and South America, in concert halls and recording studios, for live radio and television broadcasts and on major motion picture film scores.
The Thoreau Piano Trio was formed in 2011 at the Warebrook Contemporary Music Festival in Vermont, and is hailed for creating adventurous and innovative programs, connecting diverse art forms and collaborating with living composers and visual artists. They have been artist/faculty-in-residence at the Brookline School of Music in Boston, Mass. collaborating with Boston area composer Martin Boykan and visual artist Susan Schwalb, among many others. The group is currently ensemble-in-residence at the White Lake Chamber Music Festival in Michigan; performing, presenting master classes, lecturing and mentoring young musicians and composers. In addition, the Thoreau Piano Trio is dedicated to cultivating chamber music and young musicians at rigorous teaching appointments including the Concord Conservatory, the University of Missouri and others.
This event will feature a cash bar with beer and wine to enjoy during the show. Doors open at 7 p.m. A special members-only meet and greet hors d’oeuvres event will begin at 6 p.m. – before doors open to the public.
