Riverflats coffee to host arts and crafts fair.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — Fine arts and crafts along with coffee and tea make a pretty good combination. On Saturday, August 15, Riverflats Coffee & Tea will host its inaugural Riverflats Artisan Fair from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at its location on 1975 South Pere Marquette Highway.

“We wanted to provide an additional outlet for local artists and crafters to sell their work in a relaxed atmosphere,” said Amanda Claus, manager of Riverflats. Amanda is also a potter who owns Magic Mud Ceramics. She said the arts and crafts fair was the idea of Paul Piper, owner of Riverflats.

“We have a great location on Pere Marquette Highway just south of U.S. 31,” Amanda said. “Booths will be set up on the lawn and there is ample parking nearby. We will also feature live music and refreshments, of course.”

There is plenty of space for additional artists, Amanda added. An entry fee of $25 pays for a 10-feet by 10-feet booth space. Applications and entry guidelines can be downloaded here, picked up at Riverflats or by emailing Amanda at amanda@riverflatscoffee.com.

“We are really hoping this is a show that features our local artists,” Amanda said. “There is just so many talented people in our community and we believe they should all have the opportunity to sell their work.”
