LUDINGTON — Ludington Area Center for the Arts is offering a three-hour workshop with North Carolina watercolorist Susan Lingg on June 9 from 1 to 4 p.m. Lingg was born and raised in Michigan, spending vacation time on the big waters of Lake Michigan and small lakes, studying art along the way. She is a self-taught, intuitive painter, her first art exhibit was a clothesline exhibit at the age of 8. Susan has been exhibiting her work through art fairs, festivals, libraries, universities, government buildings and galleries since 1982. Susan teaches watercolor and handmade paper through various institutions and privately.
Lingg’s three-hour workshop will explore various applications and techniques unique to watercolor such as glazes, washes, salt, splatter, and negatives spaces. This class is for the absolute beginner to the skilled artist. Paints, brushes and watercolor paper will be supplied by the instructor to create two finished pieces.
