79th District Court arraignments include retail fraud, strangulation, resisting police

LUDINGTON — The following were arraigned recently in front of the 79th District Court Magistrate:

Felonies

Mallison

– Allen Michael Mallison, 26, of 1710 White, Free Soil, was arrested March 7 by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) for a felony of first-degree retail fraud. Probable cause hearing: March 18 at 1:15 p.m. Preliminary exam: March 25 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $15,000/cash/surety.

Kapala

– Jason Matthew Kapala, 26, of 108 Green St., Scottville, was arrested March 5 by MCSO for felonies of assault by strangulation and interfering with electronic communications, along with a misdemeanor of domestic violence and habitual offender, third offense. Probable cause hearing: March 18 at 1:15 p.m. Bail: $7,500/10 percent.

Couturier

– Amanda Jean Courturier, 24, of 206 N. William, Ludington, was arrested March 5 by MCSO for three felony counts of assaulting/resisting/obstructing police. Probable cause hearing: March 18 at 1:15 p.m. Bail: $5,000/10 percent.

Steiger

– Christian Jonathan Steiger, 21, of 75 N. Stiles Rd., Ludington, was arrested March 10 by the Ludington Police Department (LPD) for a felony of unlawful driving away of an automobile and failing to report an accident. Probable cause hearing: March 18 at 3 p.m. Bail: $3,500/10 percent.

Treesh

– Joel Richard Treesh, 23, of 301 E. Melendy St., Apt. 2, Ludington, was arrested March 6 by LPD for a felony of aggravated domestic assault and possession of marijuana. Probable cause hearing: March 18 at 3 p.m. Bail: $3,500/10 percent.

Beck

– Anthony John Beck, 23, of 106 S. Reinberg, Scottville, was arrested March 9 by MCSO for a felony of controlled substance, possession of analogues. Probable cause hearing: March 25 at 1:15 p.m. Bail: $3,500/10 percent.

Hluchan

– John Wesley Hluchan, 23, of 6976 W. Partridge Circle, Ludington, was arrested March 4 by MCSO for two felony counts of controlled substance, possession of analogues and one count of possession of marijuana. Probable cause hearing: March 18 at 1 p.m. Preliminary exam: March 25 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $3,500/cash/surety/10 percent cash.

Misdemeanors

– Levi Daniel Schwass, 19, of 922 W. Kinney Rd., Scottville, was arrested March 3 by MCSO for a misdemeanor of possession of marijuana. Pretrial: March 30 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $2,500/personal.

– Tighe Thomas Leray, 19, of 1980 W. Townline Rd., Free Soil, was arrested March 2 by MCSO for a misdemeanor of possession of marijuana. Pretrial: March 30 at 10:45 a.m. Bail: $2,500/personal.

– Blake Allen Stankowski, 21, of 6417 N. Stiles Rd., Ludington, was arrested March 2 by MCSO for a misdemeanor of possession of marijuana. Pretrial: March 23 at 11:45 a.m. Bail: $2,500/personal.

– John M. Epifanio, 39, of 500 N. Lakeshore Dr., Apt. PH306, Chicago, was arrested March 9 by MCSO for misdemeanor of operating with a high blood alcohol content (BAC)/super drunk and operating while intoxicated. Pretrial: March 9 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $5,000/10 percent.

– Matthew James Herlein, 32, of 3673 W. Woodview Dr., Ludington, was arrested March 9 by MCSO for a misdemeanor of driving while license suspended (DWLS). Pretrial: April 6 at 9:30 a.m. Bail: $1,500/personal.

– Scott David McDonald, 30, of 4235 N. Beaune Rd., Ludington, was arrested March 6 by LPD for misdemeanors of operating with a high BAC/super drunk and operating while intoxicated. Pretrial: March 30 at 11:45 a.m. Bail: $3,500/10 percent.

– Melody Joy Norman, 21, of 2727 E. First St., Custer, was arrested March 7 by the Scottville Police Department for a misdemeanor of operating while intoxicated. Pretrial: March 30 at 2:15 p.m. Bail: $2,500/10 percent.
