The Mason County Central High School forensics team recently competed at the Birch Run Invitational tournament. The team placed first overall with a total of 236 points, out of 19 teams. Of 24 entries, 10 broke semifinals, and of that 10, nine made it to finals.
Kaci Clayton won first in prose, with a perfect score of 8/800 out of 23 competitors. Kaitilin Dwyer placed first in sales speaking, out of 10. Jessica Nehm placed first in informative speaking, out of 10. Hana Smith placed first in broadcasting, out of 19. Chance Iles ranked second in broadcasting.
The Mason County Central Multiple placed second. Bethany Anderson ranked third in prose, out of 23. Corinne Davis and Jared Woods placed fourth in duo, and Grace O’Connar and Kat Boes placed sixth in duo, out of 15. Penny Peterson ranked at sixth in impromptu, out of 12.
