Custer man pleads to resisting police, domestic violence.

LUDINGTON — A 22-year-old Custer Township man may face up to 1 year in jail for resisting a police officer and assaulting his brothers. Gregory Alexander Jolly was arrested Dec. 2 by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office in the 3700 block of East First Street.

Jolly admitted in 51st Circuit Court Tuesday afternoon that he had assaulted his two brothers. He also admitted that he had struck Dep. Kyle Boyd when Boyd attempted to arrest him.

Jolly was initially charged with malicious destruction of police or fire department property (a 2-year felony), resisting arrest (a 2-year felony), and two misdemeanor charges of domestic violence (93 days).

He was offered a plea agreement by Mason County Prosecutor Paul Spaniola of up to 1 year in jail, serving 60 days up front. He would also have the option to spend the last 30 days in an outpatient substance abuse treatment facility. He would also be required to be monitored for up to 6 months after being released from jail.

Jolly pleaded guilty and accepted the plea agreement. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Tuesday, March 17 at 2:30 p.m.
