SHERMAN TWP. — A 27-year-old Fountain man was injured after the vehicle he was driving rolled over on Sugar Grove Road about a half mile east of Custer Road Wednesday just before 4 p.m. The Jeep Wrangler was traveling east when it apparently lost control on the icy road. It crossed the centerline and left the north side of the roadway. The vehicle then flipped from front to back and landed in a ditch.
The driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was trapped in the vehicle, requiring rescuers to use hydraulic tools to extricate him. He was then transported by ambulance to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
Responding to the scene were Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Fountain Area Fire Department and Life EMS ambulance.
