LUDINGTON — Mason County Sheriff’s Sgt. Gene Dennert was honored this afternoon with a retirement party at the sheriff’s office. Dennert has served on the county for 25 years. He said the job hasn’t always been easy been he’s thankful for his co-workers both past and present, many of whom attended the party. Sheriff Kim Cole presented Dennert with some parting gifts including a shadow box with his badges and patches. Dennert was also presented the plate off his patrol car. The plates were replaced this year.
