LUDINGTON — Due to low participation, the Ludington Area Convention and Visitors Bureau has decided to cancel the Harbor Festival Venetian Parade that was scheduled to take place on Friday evening.

The Harbor Festival Opening Ceremony is still to take place at Waterfront Park at 8 p.m. on Friday, June 27. The opening ceremony kicks-off the nine day festival happening through July 6 and also commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Million Dollar Harbor Dedication & Water Jubilee. The opening ceremony will consist of music by a string quartet from Michigan State University, speeches by Mayor Ryan Cox and Dr. Bill Anderson as well as a ceremonial flower toss and a blessing of the harbor by Police Chief Mark Barnett.
