LUDINGTON – Ludington Area Center for the Arts opens a new exhibit in its Main Gallery on Friday, May 2. Artist Carolyn Damstra will be displaying her “Recent Paintings of the Leelanau Peninsula”. This exhibit is scheduled to run through June, removed only briefly the first weekend of June for the Lighthouse Festival Arts & Crafts Show.
Damstra is an artist and illustrator who holds a BFA in Studio Art and a MA in Art History from Michigan State University. She creates paintings from photographs or imagination and is greatly inspired by the Sleeping Bear Dunes area of the Leelanau Peninsula.
A reception for Carolyn Damstra and her exhibit is scheduled for Friday, May 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Main Gallery. The public is welcome to attend this free reception to meet the artist and view the exhibit. Light refreshments will be served.
