Lakeside Civic Players Present “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change!”

The Perfect Gift for Valentine’s Day

LUDINGTON – Lakeside Civic Players is giving a perfect Valentine’s gift to the area with its production of one of Off-Broadway’s longest-running musicals, “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change!”

The show debuted last weekend at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts and continues this Friday, Feb. 10 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 12 at 2 p.m.  On Saturday, Feb. 11, the performance will be part of a special Valentine’s dinner theater beginning at 6 p.m.

Tickets for the play are $13 for members of the Center for the Arts and $15 for non-members.  Tickets for the dinner theater performance on Saturday are $30 for individuals (members) and $35 (non-members) and $55/couple (members) and $65/couple non-members.  Tickets are available at the Center for the Arts during its business hours: Tues-Sat. noon-5:30 p.m.

This cast is one of the best I’ve worked with,” said Josh Thomas, who is directing the musical.  “Ashley Andrews, Dilana Maggie Beilfuss, Chris Mathewson, Denae McKerchie, Patrick Mousel, Ryan Rensberry, Rae Staffen, and Kristina Thomas all play multiple roles and will take the audience on a hilarious journey through the many stages of love.  We’re also very fortunate to have Char Betka and Tom Thomas as co-music directors for the production.”

If the song titles from the show are any hint, theatergoers are in for a very memorable evening: “Always a Bridesmaid,” “Cantata for a First Date,’ and “Marriage Tango,” just to name a few.  The production is the first musical venture for Lakeside Civic Players, the resident, community theatre company at the Center for the Arts.
