Road weight and speed restrictions in effect

SCOTTVILLE — The Mason County Road Commission will be placing seasonal weight and speed restrictions on select county roads beginning March 17 at 7 a.m.

All county roads with the exception of state trunklines and county “all season” roads will restrict the maximum axle load by 35% per axle and truck speeds to 35 mph. Weight and speed restrictions are enforced to minimize the damage caused during Michigan’s thaw season. Enforcement will be performed by retired Michigan State Police Trooper Dale Goodrich, who has completed a truck traffic enforcement seminar.
