LUDINGTON — Two children were injured as a result of a two-vehicle crash on Jackson Road, south of Ludington Avenue Saturday afternoon. The crash occurred when the 26-year-old male driver of a Chevrolet Impala pulled out of a private parking lot into the path of a north-bound Ford pickup truck driven by a 52-year-old Ludington man. Jackson road is on the Ludington-Pere Marquette Township line.
The driver of the Impala, a Ludington resident, and his fiancé, a 25-year-old Ludington woman, were not injured. However, the woman’s 5-year-old and 6-year-old daughters were transported to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital by Life EMS ambulance. The 6-year-old girl had to be extricated with hydraulic tools from Ludington Fire Department.
The driver of the Impala was cited for failure to yield. Also responded was Ludington Police Department and Mason County Sheriff’s Office.
