VICTORY TWP. –The Performing Arts Series at West Shore Community College announces changes to its current 2013-14 season.
Due to a cancellation by the artists themselves, “Committed,” the a cappella singing group originally booked on April 10, has reneged on their contract, according to the arts series director, Dr. Rick Plummer.
“I am sorry for this unfortunate turn of events; ‘Committed’ apparently isn’t,” he added.
Due to scheduling conflicts, the April 25 concert by “Cyrille Aimee – Direct from Paris” will move to Sat., April 26, at 7:30 p.m.
Also the Collegiates, the college’s singing ensemble, will perform with the Jazz Band on April 29, not with the Concert Choir on April 27, as originally scheduled.
Another change in the schedule is for the summer musical. Plummer says that, “My Fair Lady,” is still unavailable for stock and amateur licensing. Therefore, WSCC Performing Arts and Manistee Civic Players will present the popular “Shrek: the Musical” in its place.
“Shrek: the Musical” will play June 27, 28, 29, and July 5 and 6 at the historic Ramsdell Theatre in Manistee.
Tickets for all events may be made any time online from the college’s website or by calling the box office from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. daily, Monday-Friday. If calling the box office after hours, leave a message and the box office manager will return all calls.
Plummer directs all patrons to view the amended schedule on the college website atwww.westshore.edu. The box office telephone number is 231-843-5507.
