Custer teen pleads to stealing outboard motors

LUDINGTON — A 17-year-old Custer Township man pleaded guilty this afternoon in 51st Circuit Court for receiving and concealing stolen property valued at more than $1,000 but less than $20,000. Collin Derek Trim, 1873 E. Wilson Road, was arrested Aug. 4, 2013 by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office for stealing outboard motors and tackle equipment from a Ludington marina.

On Tuesday he agreed to a plea agreement with the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office. The plea agreement calls for one year in jail with five months served at the discretion of the court. He will also have to serve probation and pay restitution.

He is scheduled to be sentenced at 2 p.m. on Dec. 17.
