LUDINGTON – The following defendants were sentenced this past week in 79th District Court:
– Brett Allen Ballard, 28, of 5553 W. Johnson Rd., Ludington, was found guilty Oct. 29 of impaired driving. He was sentenced to one days in jail with credit for one day served; $1,145 in fines and costs; Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); 93 days discretionary jail for one year; and must attend the next session of Victims Impact Panel. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).
– Mark Aaron Ray, 22, of 2159 N. Morse Rd., Fountain, was found guilty Oct. 29 of operating while impaired by liquor. He was sentenced to one days in jail with credit for one day served; outpatient treatment; $1,145 in fines and costs; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend the next session of the Victims Impact Panel; no alcohol/drugs; and subject to random preliminary breath tests (PBTs). Conviction reportable to SOS.
– Taylor Miles Densmore , 17, of 416 W. Beyer Rd., Apt. 40, Free Soil, was found guilty Oct. 29 of attempted assaulting/resisting/ obstructing and domestic violence. He was sentenced to 28 days in jail with credit for 28 days served; outpatient counseling; one year discretionary jail for two years for Count I; 93 days discretionary jail for Count II; must perform 58 hours community within six months instead of paying fines and costs of $580; must attend school with no unexcused absences or tardies; and must not possess any dangerous weapons.
– Sean Jay Speer, 20, of 405 4th St., Ludington, was found guilty Oct. 29 of driving while license suspended (DWLS). He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; one year discretionary jail for two years; and $740 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of DWLS, second offense, was dismissed.
– Morgan Marie Fenner, 22, of 143 N. Jebavy, Apt. 11, Ludington, was found guilty Oct. 29 of third-degree retail fraud. She was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend Economic Crime Program; and $580 in fines and costs.
– Danyel Rebecca Horsley, 26, of 503 N. Washington Apt. 2, Ludington, was found guilty Oct. 29 of malicious telecommunications services. She was sentenced to 180 days discretionary jail for two years and $580 in fines and costs. One count of obstruction of justice was dismissed.
– Christopher Joseph Watson, 30, of 703 E. Dowland St., Ludington, was found guilty Oct. 29 of DWLS. He was sentenced to 22 days in jail with credit for 22 days served; one year discretionary jail for two years; $580 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
– Nicholas Brian Lauterwasser, 21, of 186 S. Walhalla Rd., Fountain, was found guilty Oct. 8 of reckless driving – 6 points and minor in possession (MIP), second offense. He was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year and $375 in fines and costs for Count I and 60 days discretionary jail for one year and no alcohol/drugs for Count II. Both convictions are reportable to SOS.
– Bonnie Jo Hendricks, 51, of 990 N. Jebavy Dr., Ludington, was found guilty Nov. 1 of impaired driving. She was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; AHSE; $1,145 in fines and costs; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend the Victims Impact Panel; and may complete court-ordered programs in Florida. Conviction reportable to SOS.
– David James Gwiazdowski, 43, of 802 N. Staffon St., Ludington, was pleaded no contest Oct. 29 to two counts of furnishing alcohol to a minor. He was sentenced to 60 days discretionary jail for one year for each count and $590 in fines and cost. One count of loud noise/loud music/disturbing the peace was dismissed.
– Joshua Alan Carr, 29, of 1485 Betty Ave., Ludington, was found guilty Nov. 1 of prowling – disorderly and driver transporting open intoxicants. For Count I, he was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; $285 in fines and costs; 30 days discretionary jail for one year; and must complete counseling. For Count II, he was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; $265 in fines and costs; 30 days discretionary jail for one year; and must complete counseling. Conviction reportable to SOS.
– Gregory Lee Heglund, 50, of 2584 W. Groth Rd., Ludington, was found guilty Nov. 4 of operating without a license on person. He was sentenced to $275 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
– Robert Benjamin Dilworth, 37, of 8031 N. Darr Rd., Ludington, was found guilty Nov. 4 of operating without a license on person. He was sentenced to $275 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
– Derek William Divine, 37, of 1350 Sargent Ave., SE, Ada, was found guilty Nov. 4 of check non-sufficient funds $100 or more. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; $780.46 in fines, costs and restitution; and 93 days discretionary jail for one year. One count of check non-sufficient funds – three within 10 days was dismissed.
– Kayleigh Lynn Clark, 24, of 8776 104th Ave., Pentwater, was found guilty Nov. 5 of second-degree retail fraud and larceny less than $100. For Count I, she was sentenced to inpatient treatment; $580 in fines, costs and restitution; one year discretionary jail for two years; must attend the Economic Crime Program; must comply with Child Protective Services (CPS); no alcohol/drugs; and subject to random preliminary breath tests (PBTs) and drug tests. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of DWLS was dismissed. For Count II, she was sentenced to inpatient treatment; $580 in fines, costs and restitution; 93 days discretionary jail for two years; no alcohol/drugs; and subject to random preliminary breath tests (PBTs) and drug tests.
– Christopher Eugene Brown, 26, of 506 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, was found guilty Nov. 5 of breaking and entering without owner’s permission. He was sentenced to 10 days in jail with for 10 days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; must have substance abuse evaluation and follow recommendations; no alcohol/drugs; subject to random PBTs; and $580 in fines and costs.
– Kenneth Michael Adams, 29, of 222 E. Second St., Ludington, was found guilty Nov. 5 of larceny less than $200. He was sentenced to $598 in fines, costs and restitution; outpatient counseling; 93 days discretionary jail for two years; must attend the Economic Crime Program; no alcohol/drugs; and subject to random PBTs. One count of DWLS was dismissed.
– Bernard Joe Bovee, Jr., 40, of 3418 E. Manales Rd., Fountain, was found guilty Nov. 5 of two counts of septage waste disposal on land without permit. He was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year for each count and $580 in fines and costs. A third and a fourth count of the same charge were dismissed.
– Shannon Marrie Freese, 27, of 4596 E. Sugar Grove Rd., Custer, was found guilty Nov. 5 of operating while impaired by liquor. She was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; $1,145 in fines and costs; outpatient counseling; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend the next session of Victims Impact Panel; no alcohol/drugs; and subject to random PBTs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
– George William Winters, 59, no address listed, was found guilty Nov. 5 of larceny less than $200. He was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for two years; no alcohol/drugs; random PBTs; and $601.30 in fines, costs and restitution.
– Brian Ashley Sherman, 27, of 5459 N. Schoehnerr Rd., Fountain, was found guilty Nov. 5 of receiving and concealing stolen property. He was sentenced to 16 days in jail with credit for 16 days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; $726.80 in fines, costs and restitution; and must attend Economic Crime Program.
– James Anthony Walkley, 24, of 506 N. Thomas St., Scottville, was found guilty Nov. 5 of domestic violence. He was sentenced to 23 days in jail with credit for two days served; outpatient treatment; $580 in fines and costs; 93 days discretionary jail for two years; no contact with victims; no alcohol/drugs; and subject to random PBTs and drug tests.
Dismissals
– Michael Aaron Thomas, 18, of 5214 S. Tomahawk Trail, Baldwin, one count of operating a motor vehicle without security was dismissed Nov. 5.
– Samuel Delossantos, 66, of 5454 S. Brye Rd. Ludington, one count of operating a motor without security was dismissed Nov. 1.
