RIVERTON TOWNSHIP — The Riverton Fire Department will hold its annual Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, May 10 from 7 a.m. to noon at Riverton Township Hall, 2122 W. Hawley Rd.
The event is a major fundraiser for the fire department with proceeds helping to offset costs not covered by the Mason County Rural Authority’s millage.
This year’s event marks the 21st year since it began in 2004 (it wasn’t held in 2020 due to the pandemic).
The $10 breakfast donation (children ages 6 and under, are by donation of diner’s choice) includes all you can eat of pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, apple sauce, fruit, coffee, juice and maple syrup from Kistlercrest Farms.
The event will also include a silent auction, 50/50 raffles, and a bake sale.
Through the years the pancake breakfast has funded the addition of the fire station, concrete for parking, turnout gear, and other equipment.
“This event has become the major community event in Riverton Township,” Riverton Fire Department Chief Cooper said. “People from the township and beyond look forward to coming to it every year.”
