LUDINGTON — A person who was walking around neighborhoods over the weekend, claiming to work for an internet provider, sparked some suspicion.
“Over the weekend several citizens reported a subject walking around neighborhoods claiming to be doing work for a local internet provider,” states an announcement on the Ludington Police Department’s Facebook page Monday, April 21. “LPD has reached out to the internet provider to attempt to verify the legitimacy of the subject as an employee/contractor for the provider. The provider was not able to verify the status of the subject in question, but advised it could have been an employee/contractor.
“We would like to remind everyone that it is critically important to verify the identity of anyone requesting to perform work on your property, before granting any access.
“If you have any questions or concerns about this, please call Mason-Oceana 911 and ask to have an LPD officer stop by to assist you.”
