Jacob Janowiak

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jacob Michael Janowiak, who passed away on April 2, 2025, at the age of 28, after a courageous battle with cancer. Jacob was a beloved son, brother, and friend, whose memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Jacob was born to Pamela and Michael Janowiak and was the cherished brother of Eric Janowiak and Allison Janowiak. His family and faith in God were the cornerstones of his life. Jacob always said, “Family first.” He truly enjoyed spending time with his siblings, cousins, aunts, and uncles at our large family gatherings.

Jacob had a deep love for the outdoors and was an avid fisherman, hunter, and boater. He also treasured the time spent with his loyal dog, Goose, who brought him endless companionship and joy. He was a big Michigan sports fan. He loved the Wolverines, the Lions, and the Tigers. Jacob also had a passion for cooking and grilling. He enjoyed entertaining and sharing his grilling skills with his friends.

Jacob graduated from Ludington High School in 2015. During his time at LHS, he played baseball and football. Jacob received the “Mr. Oriole” award for outstanding character in his senior year. After his time at LHS, he pursued a degree in mechanical engineering at Kettering University. His love for engineering led him to his dream job at Chris-Craft Corporation in Sarasota, Florida, where he contributed his talent and dedication to designing and building boats. During his time in Florida Jacob was living his best life. He spent his days boating, fishing, scuba-diving, spear fishing, and spending time with his incredible group of friends.

Jacob’s warm spirit, infectious laugh, and kind heart made him a friend to many. His presence brightened every room, and his loyalty and generosity were evident in everything he did. Whether enjoying a day out with family and friends, cooking steaks on the grill, or offering a helping hand, Jacob’s zest for life and his loved ones was always clear.

Jacob is survived by his parents, Pamela and Michael Janowiak; his brother, Eric Janowiak; his sister, Allison Janowiak; and his loyal companion, Goose. He will also be dearly missed by his many cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A visitation will be held Friday, April 11, 2025, at Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington from 5 to 7 p.m. There will be a Rosary praying immediately following visitation at the funeral home.
