LUDINGTON — Registration is now open for the 2025 Ludington Offshore Classic, scheduled for July 14-20, on Lake Michigan. The event features competitions for professionals, amateurs, women, and youth, all vying for cash prizes.
Ludington is one of the premier salmon fishing ports on the Great Lakes and a popular destination on the Lake Michigan tournament trail. Its vibrant atmosphere and outstanding fishing experience keep anglers returning year after year.
“The Ludington tournament is one of our favorites,” said Josh Ezinga, whose boat EZ Limits won the pro division in 2024. “I’ve fished all the events on the trail now, and it is tough to beat the competition that attends this tournament. The committee does a fantastic job organizing and running the tournament. It is also unique in the fact that it draws a large crowd to the weigh-in, and it seems like the whole city is interested in the event, not just the fishermen entered in the tournament.”
In 2024, the Ludington Offshore Classic initiated a new partnership with the Lakeshore Food Club, a nonprofit grocery store that provides food access to over 3,000 Mason County residents who face food insecurity. Again this year, anglers are invited to donate their catches throughout the tournament to the food club, whose volunteers will be on site collecting.
During the 2024 tournament, volunteers cleaned over 2,500 pounds of trout and salmon that were then donated to the food club, making a lasting impact on the community.
