LUDINGTON – On Tuesday, April 1, Lakeshore Food Club will launch its Hope Multiplier campaign in response to US Department of Agriculture funding cuts. The campaign aims to rally 3,000 donors to commit $30 a month for three months, ensuring continued access to fresh, healthy food and sustaining partnerships with small, local farms.
Recently, the USDA announced it will eliminate funding for two federal food assistance programs within 60 days, eliminating resources that provide food to thousands of families in Mason and Oceana counties.
“This community has always shown up for each other,” said O’Nealya Gronstal, executive director of Lakeshore Food Club. “Now, more than ever, we need to multiply hope. Every donor, every dollar, every month makes a difference.
“A small sacrifice, like skipping a night out, can make a lasting impact,” Gronstal said. “Instead of a movie, a round of golf, or takeout, your $30 monthly gift provides two weeks of groceries for a local family and supports our local farmers.”
