SCOTTVILLE — Over 3,800 people attended the 33rd Family AfFAIR Saturday, March 15, held at Mason County Central High School. According to Angela Taylor, one of the event’s coordinators, the event drew people from seven counties.
Every year hundreds of people from area businesses and community agencies provide a whole day of fun for local families. The 60-plus groups and organizations each year bring intriguing and entertaining hands-on activities for participants. Many hand out trinkets, informational items and snacks. This year over 700 goodie bags were handed out to visitors; MCC schools handed out 1,379 items to visitors.
“This was a really big year for Family AfFAIR,” Taylor said. “After three decades we continue to see a great following for this late winter event that services so many families.”
Some activities included photo booths, arts and crafts, obstacle courses, bounce houses, balloon animals, carnival games, structure building and a free book bus parked out front, along with emergency vehicles.
This year’s exhibitor award went to the Mason County Road Commission.
