
Ny Dettmer
Fred Nylan Dettmer, 83, of Ludington, formerly of Rockford, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
Fred, lovingly known as Ny, was born in Detroit, on October 17, 1941, the son of the late Fred H. and Norma Jean (Scott) Dettmer. He was a 1959 graduate of Ferndale High School. He later went on to attend Michigan State University, Wayne State University, and Detroit Institute of Technology, earning his bachelor of arts degree. On June 22, 1963, he married Patricia Lee (Sisko) Dettmer. Enjoying making his own schedule, he was self employed as a certified public accountant. He was a proud member of North Kent Presbyterian Church in Rockford as well as the Michigan Association of CPA’s.
Ny was an honest and loyal man, always putting the well-being of his family first. He loved planning and attending celebrations and events for family and friends.
Fred is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughters, Elizabeth (Tom) Dettmer, Deborah McIntyre, and Michelle (Bucky) Strong; six grandchildren; and three great-granddaughters.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Norma Jean Dettmer; brother Lyle Dettmer; and son-in-law, Gene McIntyre.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 29 at 11 a.m. at North Kent Presbyterian Church in Rockford, 6175 Kuttshill Dr. North-East, Rockford, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at the church.
