
Charles Dewyer
Charles “Charlie” Levern Dewyer, 66, passed away on February 17, 2025 at his home in Custer. Born on June 13, 1958, in Ludington, Charlie was a cherished member of his community and a beloved figure among his family and friends.
Charlie graduated from Mason County Central High School in 1977 and dedicated much of his career to the City of Ludington as a skilled mechanic. He retired in 2016 after 16 years of diligent service, where his expertise and hardworking nature were greatly valued.
Charlie’s life was marked by his fun, loving personality and a great sense of humor that brought joy to those around him. He was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for camping, hunting, and fishing. Even in his leisure, Charlie enjoyed tinkering with mechanics, a lifelong interest that both challenged and entertained him.
He leaves behind his wife, Ellouise (Sample) Dewyer, whom he married on July 15, 1989. He is also survived by his brother, Bob (Lorraine) Dewyer; sisters-in-law, Sharon Jensen and Christie Dewyer; and several nieces and nephews. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Jackie (Murawski) Dewyer; brothers, Mike Murawski and Larry Dewyer; and nephews, Jeremiah Dewyer and James Chrisple.
Charlie will be remembered for his kind heart, spirited laughter, and the profound impact he had on the lives of those he touched.
His memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Ludington, with visitation starting at noon. A luncheon will follow.
