MASON COUNTY — Two separate rollover crashes Thursday evening, Feb. 6, resulted in minor injuries, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.
The first accident occurred shortly after 7 p.m., on US 31 north of Fountain Road in Sherman Township. “A 39-year-old Free Soil woman received minor injuries after the vehicle she was operating lost control on icy roads; ran off the road; and overturned,” said Sheriff Cole.
The second crash happened around 9:15 p.m. on Pere Marquette Highway south of Meisenheimer Road in Summit Township. A 28-year-old Ludington man and his passenger, a 27-year-old Ludington man, both received minor injuries, said Sheriff Cole.

- 3:54 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, Pere Marquette Highway and Sixth Street, Pere Marquette Township.
- 5:06 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, Stiles Road south of Anthony Road, Riverton Township.
- 8 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 south of Hoague Road, Free Soil Township.
- 9:27 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, Stiles Road south of Beyer Road, Victory Township.
- 10:52 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), a 35-year-old Ludington woman was arrested for operating while intoxicated following a traffic stop near Ludington Avenue and Madison Street, City of Ludington. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
Friday, Feb. 7, 2025:
- 8:38 a.m., (MCSO), a 39-year-old Custer man was arrested at the request of the Lee County, Florida Sheriff’s Office, which asked MCSO to locate the suspect, who was wanted in Florida on a probation violation warrant for charges of methamphetamine possession and driving under the influence causing serious injury. The suspect was located in the 1000 block of North Custer Road and taken into custody without incident.
- 1:50 p.m., (LPD), a 25-year-old Ludington man was arrested on a failure to appear warrant issued by Mason County’s 79th District Court, 100 block of South James Street, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
- 8:07 p.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Sheridan Township.
Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025:
- 11:12 a.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, Main and State streets, City of Scottville.
- 11:47 a.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Grant Township.
- 12:52 p.m., (MCSO), a 43-year-old Custer man was arrested on an outstanding contempt of court warrant issued in Oceana County, 600 block of South Pere Marquette Highway, Pere Marquette Township.
- 2:42 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 and US 31, Amber Township.
- 4:12 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, Chauvez and Scottville roads, Riverton Township.
- 7:40 p.m., (MCSO), vehicle slide-off, no damage or injury, Pere Marquette Highway and Iris Road, Pere Marquette Township.
- 8 p.m., (LPD), a 55-year-old Ludington man was cited for disorderly conduct, 1100 block of South Madison Street, City of Ludington.
Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025:
- 9:12 a.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle rollover crash, no injury, US 31 freeway near the Ludington rest area, Summit Township.
- 11:12 a.m., (LPD), a 56-year-old Ludington man was cited for disorderly conduct — public intoxication, 300 block of West Ludington Avenue, City of Ludington.
- 2:01 p.m., (MCSO), a 31-year-old Scottville man was cited for driving while license suspended following a traffic stop, US 10 and Dennis Road, Amber Township.
- 4:55 p.m., (MCSO), a 74-year-old Ludington man was arrested for retail fraud and resisting arrest at the Goodwill store, West US 10, Amber Township. “During the investigation, the suspect reportedly attempted to pull away from officers/deputies who were attempting to secure him,” said Sheriff Cole.
- 6:32 p.m., (MCSO), a retail fraud warrant is being requested for a 21-year-old Branch man, Dollar General, West US 10, Pere Marquette Township.
