John Organ
John Emery Organ, 90, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025, in Ludington, the city where he was born on November 10, 1934. His life was marked by a deep devotion to his community, his country, and his family.
John served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War, stationed in Japan, where he gained valuable experiences that he often shared with his family and friends. After his military service, he returned to Ludington and began a longstanding career as a heavy equipment operator at Dow Chemical, a role he held with great responsibility and pride until his retirement.
He was married to Millie Young Organ for 38 years until her death in 1997 and found love again with Brenda Lange, who survives him. He and Brenda were married for 15 wonderful years. John is also survived by his children, Robert (Karin) Organ and Dairlis (Jim) Organ Rigg; stepchildren, Bernie (Dawn) Lensky, Shana (Rick) Huggard, Steve (Matzi) Jolly; and was a proud grandfather to several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
His passing was preceded by his parents, Edward Mathias Organ and Beatrice Lucille Hayes Organ; his sister, Patricia Organ Corey; his brother, Dale Organ; and a special friend, Louella Magnuson.
John was a man of faith, actively involved in Beacon Ministries. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, traveling, and he was particularly fond of card games, with cribbage and pinochle being his favorites.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Beacon Ministries, 4433 US 31, Scottville (Victory Township), with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Legion Post 76 or Beacon Ministries in memory of John. His legacy of service, both military and community, along with his warm spirit and love for life, will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who knew him.
