Bruce Stafford

Bruce Howard Stafford, 44, of Ludington, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2025. Born on March 3, 1980, in Ludington, he was a lifelong resident and a proud graduate of Oceana High School.

Bruce was known for his skillful craftsmanship in making fishing lures, a trade that mirrored his passion for fishing. His love for the outdoors extended to hunting and participating in demolition derby events. Bruce was also an avid pool player and had a deep affection for dogs, especially his beloved Dixie.

He leaves behind his wife, Heather Leatherman-Stafford, whom he married on July 8, 2011. Bruce is also survived by his mother, Toni Smith (Mike Jensen); his sisters, LeAnn Underwood (Brian Riggs) and Cheyenne Hisong (Patrick); his godson, Kolby Fauling; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and his mother-in-law. His life was enriched by the close bonds he shared with his very special friends, Johann Risner and Troy Borma. Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Dale Howard Stafford Jr.; his brother, Joshua Stafford; and his grandparents, Sandra and Kenneth Dunlap, Larry Demmon, and Dale Howard Stafford Sr.

At this time, there are no services planned. The family suggests that contributions in Bruce’s memory be made directly to the family to honor his life and passions.

Bruce’s legacy will be remembered by all who knew him as a devoted family man, a passionate outdoorsman, and a cherished friend.

Arrangements were entrusted to Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington, www.OakGroveLudington.com.
