It is with heavy hearts that we announce our beloved, Roselinda ‘Linda’ (Eastman) Martin, 85, of Branch, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
Born on September 19, 1939, to the late David Delbert and Frankie Roselinda (Miller) Eastman, Linda would first and foremost want any words we put to pen about her life to bring praise to the amazing grace and mercies of Jesus Christ. Linda was a woman with an abiding faith and trust in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, which deepened with each passing day of her life. As a gifted pianist and vocalist, she gave those gifts to various churches and special services in the earlier years of her life while in Ohio, and more privately in a concert of one for her Savior after retiring and moving to Michigan.
To those who knew her well, she will fondly be remembered as a woman like no other. Fiercely independent, determined, strong, passionate, with a grit and work ethic second to none. She brought this collective spirit and nature to each activity she entered into, as well as to every individual she met. She had a charm that cushioned her direct, often blunt mannerism which often left family, neighbors, the check-out associates or just a stranger on the street either laughing or stunned by what just came out of her mouth. She talked, walked, worked, played, and loved with a zeal and gusto for life that was larger than life itself.
Some of her greatest enjoyments were time spent outdoors in nature, spending countless hours in her yard, gardens, and bird watching. She loved learning new things, always interested in various topics and current events and especially about the state of Michigan where she lived out her retirement years. She was an avid golfer, a baseball and hockey enthusiast, and to describe her as a true aficionado of national politics and C-span would be an understatement. Never did she pass up a chance to school one or advocate on behalf of the importance of staying engaged in America’s democracy and its politic processes.
Yet, without question, Linda will be most remembered for her unwavering loyalty and love for her family. She worried about them, rooted for them, took pride in them, protected them, got frustrated with them, yet always loved them. Her loving family includes: Daughter, Apryl (Brad) Ealy of Mount Victory, Ohio — having three children, Stephanie (Weston) Appelfeller with children Bowie and Roux, Seth (Karah) Ealy, and Sydney (Brett Jack) Ealy; daughter, Tonya (Tim, predeceased) Ramsey of Mount Victory, Ohio, having four children; Travis (Darcy) Ramsey with girls Lola and Anna, Troy (Jennifer) Ramsey with children Devan and Kelsey, Tyler (Danielle) Ramsey, and Tara Madia; daughter, Angie (Monte) Marbley of Blacklick, Ohio, having one son, Jalen (Maria) Wells with little P.J.; daughter, Jaci (Dan) Miller of Fountain; brothers, the late Dick (Betty) Eastman, Henry (Dutch, predeceased) Eastman, the late Jim (Judy) Eastman, and sisters, Sharon (Ron, predeceased) Kissling, Jane (Jack, predeceased) Eastman, Marsha (Sam, predeceased) Hartley, Valerie (Russell) Schon, and multiple nieces and nephews.
Though she leaves a very large void and will be desperately missed, her beautiful one-of-a-kind nature and legacy of unyielding faith and devotion to the saving grace of Christ lives on in each of those who knew and loved her.
We’re grateful to Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington, Michigan for handling her cremation arrangements. There will be a private graveside service at a date yet to be determined in Fountain. In lieu of flowers, please make any donation in her memory to the Wounded Warrior Project organization.
