The following is police activity in Mason County over the weekend:

Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025:

  • 7:40 p.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), illegal dumping, 3600 block of West US 10, Amber Township. The complainant reported that a person dumped two trash bags near a business dumpster.
  • 7:53 p.m., (MCSO), a 38-year-old Ludington man was cited for second-offense driving while license suspended following a traffic stop, Johnson Road west of Jebavy Drive, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 9:26 p.m., (MCSO), a charge of domestic violence is being sought against a 31-year-old Branch man, following a 911 call reporting an assault, 7400 block of South River Bend Road, Logan Township. The suspect left the scene prior to the arrival of patrol.
  • 10:10 p.m., (MCSO), damaged property, US 31 and Koenig Road, Grant Township. The complainant reported that an unknown vehicle passed by them going in the opposite direction and threw a bottle from that vehicle, which struck the complainant’s vehicle, breaking a window.

Sunday, Jan. 5, 2025:

  • 11:49 am, (Ludington Police Department) a 46-year-old Ludington woman was arrested for two failure to appear bench warrants issued in Manistee, 600 block of South Washington Street, City of Ludington. She was turned over to the Manistee County Sheriff’s Office without incident.
  • 2:37 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 and US 31 on-ramp, Amber Township.
  • 6:12 p.m., (MCSO), a 26-year-old Fountain man was arrested on a failure-to-appear warrant issued in Mason County following a 911 call reporting a disturbance at a residence, 6500 block of East Beech Street, Sheridan Township. During the investigation, it was discovered a subject was wanted.
  • 7:52 p.m., (MCSO), a 44-year-old Ludington man was arrested on an outstanding failure-to-appear warrant issued in Mecosta County following a traffic stop, Sherman and Tinkham streets, City of Ludington.
  • 8:03 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, US 31 freeway north of Oceana Drive, Summit Township.
  • 11:45 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Rybicki Road south of Federal Forest Road #8565, Free Soil Township.
