LUDINGTON — A 35-year-old Grand Junction man was arrested by Mason County Sheriff’s Office deputies on Friday, Dec. 27, 2024 and charged with suspected possession of fentanyl. The arrest occurred at 3:32 a.m. at Ludington Avenue and Staffon Street in the City of Ludington. He was arrested on a statewide friend of the court warrant out of Berrien County and also a charge of carrying a concealed weapon. According to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole, deputies found what they suspected was fentanyl in the suspect’s vehicle. Additional charges are pending related to drug charges once crime lab results are returned, Cole said.

– 2:43 a.m.: Two-vehicle crash, no injuries, Reed Road south of US 10, Custer Township.
– 5:01 p.m.: Retail fraud, Walmart, 4854 W. US 10, Pere Marquette Township. Store employees reported a female had reportedly stole items from the store and fled on foot. The case is pending.
– 5:51 p.m.: One-vehicle crash, no injuries, Amber Road north of Johnson Road, Amber Township.
– 11:10 p.m.: A 38-year-old Ludington man was arrested in the 6700 block of East Sherman Street, Sheridan Township, for an outstanding friend of the court warrant from Mason County.
Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024
– 6:49 p.m.: Car/deer crash, no injuries, Stiles Road north of Fountain Road, Victory Township.
Sunday, Dec. 29, 2024
– 3 p.m.: Two-vehicle crash, no injuries, US 31 and Fountain Road, Sherman Township.
– 6:27 p.m.: One-vehicle crash, no injuries, Benson and Marshall roads, Branch Township.
