AMBER TOWNSHIP — A vehicle collided with a school bus Monday afternoon at the intersection of US 10-31 and Stiles Road. Emergency crews were called to the scene at 3 p.m. According to law enforcement’s preliminary investigation of the scene, a Subaru Outback was traveling west on US 10-31 when the driver apparently disregarded the red light while a West Shore Educational Service District school bus was traveling south on Stiles Road, attempting to turn east. The school bus had the right-of-way/green light.
No children were on the bus during the crash, only the driver and an aide; neither were injured. One of the two occupants of the Subaru had non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to Corewell Health Ludington Hospital.
Emergency crews responding included Michigan State Police, Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Scottville Fire Department, and Life EMS. Ludington Fire Department’s rescue unit was also dispatched but disregarded.
